Caption Menu

The Caption menu lets you add captions to panels and the Storyboard view. In addition, it enables you to delete, rename, format and search captions.

Command Description

Add Caption to Storyboard

Adds a caption field to the Storyboard view. By default, the Storyboard view only has one caption field, the Script field, to store your project's script. Caption fields in the Storyboard view are for the entire project.

Add Caption to Panels

Adds caption field to the Panel view. A panel caption field can store different text for each panel in your project.

Add Sketch to Current Panel

Adds a sketch field to the current panel, in the Panel view. A sketch field is a field in which you can draw annotations for a panel. When you add a sketch field, it is only added to the current panel.For more information, see About Script and Captions.

NOTE You cannot add a sketch caption to the Storyboard view.

Delete Caption

Allows you to delete a caption field. This menu will list all available caption fields for the project. Caption fields for panels, which are listed in the Panel view, will be preceded by Panel:, and caption fields for the project, listed in the Storyboard view, will be preceded by Storyboard:.

IMPORTANT Deleting a panel caption field deletes it for every panel in the entire project, not just for the current panel. If this caption contains text in some of the panels in your project, this text will also be deleted.

Rename Caption

Allows you to rename a caption field. This menu will list all available caption fields for the project. Caption fields for panels, which are listed in the Panel view, will be preceded by Panel:, and caption fields for the project, listed in the Storyboard view, will be preceded by Storyboard:.

NOTE Renaming a panel caption field renames it for the entire project, not just for the current panel.

Format Captions

Opens the Format Captions dialog, which allows you to change the formatting of all the panel captions in your project.

Find Text in Captions

Opens Find Text in Captions dialog, which allows you to search for phrases, words or parts of a word in the captions in your project. This dialog searches through all the captions in your project, including the ones in the Storyboard view and the ones in the Panel view. It can also be used to search and replace words in your project's captions—see Find Text in Captions Dialog.

Spelling

Spell Check

Opens the Spelling dialog, which will go through every spelling mistake in your project's script and captions and suggest correct spelling for the word based on the selected dictionary—see Spelling Dialog.

Check Spelling While Typing

When enabled, spelling mistakes in the Script field of the Storyboard view and in the caption fields of the Panel view are automatically underlined with a wavy red line. When disabled, Storyboard Pro will only detect spelling mistakes in your project through the Spelling dialog.

Save Captions Layout as Default

Saves the current layout of caption fields as the default caption layout. The projects you create in the future will automatically have this layout by default.

Show/Hide Captions

Allows you to select caption fields to display or hide in the Panel view. This allows you to hide caption fields without deleting them.

Captions Default Format Lets you set the default caption font and font size for new captions that are added to the project.
