New Features

Library’s Audio Folder

It is now possible to manage and organize the audio files in the Library’s Audio folder by creating folders and changing the display name of the files. Creating folders and renaming audio files in the Library view does not have any effect on the file on disk.

Audio Preview Improvements

The visualization and manipulation of audio files in the Library’s preview panel has been improved in this version of Storyboard Pro. When an audio file is selected, the waveform displayed in the preview panel can now be zoomed in or out to help you set the In and Out points before inserting the audio file in the Timeline. The In and Out points can now be moved by clicking and dragging them directly with the mouse and the current frame is clearly indicated by a red line over the waveform.

Clipping Masks

Storyboard Pro now supports the use and creation of Clipping Mask layers. When a Clipping Mask is created, the bottom layer of the clipping mask acts as a matte layer, clipping artwork from the layers above, that are assigned to be clipped by the mask.

The mask layer is identified by a scissors icon, which can be used to turn on or off the clipping mask.

NOTE hat projects saved with clipping masks are not compatible with previous versions of Storyboard Pro.

AI Generative Fill

The new AI Generative Fill command, in the AI Mask tools properties, can be used to generate visual content using written prompts.

Once the desired area has been selected using the AI Mask Brush, click the new AI Generative Fill button. This action opens a window where you can enter a text prompt to generate content that will replace the masked region.

Ember (AI Features)

  • An optional text prompt is now available when using the Expand Image AI Operation. HAR-11571

  • AI image operations can now process multiple images simultaneously, reducing the time required when generating content. HAR-11505

General

  • The bundled version of 7-zip has been updated to address potential security vulnerabilities with the preview version. HAR-11521

Fixes

3D

  • Random crashes can occur in projects containing 3D models when opening a project, rendering to various formats, or during application shutdown. SB-6493

  • Toggling the visibility of a 3D layer causes its custom focal length settings to reset to the default value. SB-6361

  • FBX export ignores the visibility and enabled states of 3D subnodes, causing hidden geometry to appear in the exported file. SB-5928

  • FBX exports incorrectly include extra internal scene nodes. SB-5926

Ember

  • Storyboard Pro crashes when using the "Generate Scene Length with AI" dialog to generate audio for specific scenes. SB-6504

  • Performing an AI operation on a shared layer incorrectly replaces the source artwork on all linked layers instead of only affecting the new layer. SB-6392

  • Original and AI-expanded images in the "Expand Image" dialog appear at inconsistent scales and alignments. HAR-11590

  • Images generated using the "Expand Image" are incorrectly offset by 4 pixels on both axes. HAR-11555

  • Redundant image uploads during repeated AI operations increase processing time unnecessarily. HAR-11502

Conformation

  • AAF exports fail when there is a dissolve transition after the first scene if "Export panels as movies on additional track" and "Only panels with motion" options are enabled. SB-6534

  • Some AAF files cause Storyboard Pro to crash when importing if the "Break Scene when performing 'Split Current Scene'" preference is enabled. SB-6481

General

  • Changing a panel's duration causes the volume keyframes that are at identical times to flip. SB-6506

  • The application becomes unresponsive if an automatic save is triggered while a file browser window is open. SB-6483

  • Creating a new project while another project is already open results in missing default colour palette and pencil textures. SB-6472

  • Storyboard Pro crashes when dragging audio files from the library into the timeline if the project's audio folder contains subfolders. SB-6436

  • Storyboard Pro crashes when a palette is imported if there are no palettes in the project. SB-6536

Scripting

  • Storyboard Pro crashes when exporting scenes to Harmony with "Rendered Animatic" enabled using the -batch option. SB-6397

  • ExportManager::exportToFCPXML fails to export images. SB-6539
