While one could argue that everything we manage here is an asset, including scenes and storyboards, we will restrict this definition somewhat for the sake of clarity in the context of Producer.

Scenes have their own area in the Project Dashboard and are not considered assets. They can however be linked (and loaded) with assets.

Scripts, storyboards, videos, and art references are not considered assets either. All these are considered references, not to be used directly within the scenes, and therefore have a special status. They are all gathered in the Media library — see Media Library.

Sounds, backgrounds, 2D or 3D models, textures, and props are considered assets. All of these can be tracked and/or stored within Producer. Two main menu sections are directly related to assets: Assets and Scene Planning.
