3D Graph View

When a 3D model is selected, the 3D Graph view allows you to view a list of the subnodes within the 3D model, arranged in their hierarchy. When a subnode is selected from the subnode list, you can manipulate it with the Transform tool, disable or enable it.

If your 3D model is connected to a Subnode Override node, you can select this Subnode Override node and use the 3D Graph view to select subnodes and add its properties to the Subnode Override's properties in the Timeline view; or connect a subnode to a 3D Kinematic Output node, so that its transformation can be applied to another element.

Subnode list

Lists the selected 3D model's subnodes in a tree hierarchy and allows you to select a subnode.

NOTE Subnodes preceded with a icon are transformation subnodes which are only used to affect the position, size and angle of its child subnodes. Subnodes preceded with a are geometry subnode, which actually contain a visible part of the 3D model.
Selected subnode hierarchy and name Displays the subnode's parent hierarchy followed by the subnode's name.
Subnode Filters
  • Show Geometry Subnodes: Isolate all Geometry Subnodes in the subnode list.

  • Show Bone Subnodes: Isolate all Bone Subnodes in the subnode list.

  • Show Transformation Subnodes: Isolate all the Transformation Subnodes in the subnode list.

State

The subnode state is the status of the visibility and active status of the subnodes in the 3D Graph view.

The default state for the subnodes will either be visible or invisible depending on the visibility of the subnode when originally exported from the 3D software.

The different subnodes are the following:

  • Default: This state will display the 3D model in the Camera view how they were originally exported from a 3D software. There are two default states:

    • Default Visible : The subnode element was visible when exported from a 3D software allowing it to be visible in the Camera view.

    • Default Invisible : The subnode was invisible when exported from a 3D software making the subnode element invisible in the Camera view.

NOTE Any bones that are set to Default Invisible will need to be toggled to visible to be seen when the Bone Selection Mode is active.
  • Visible : The subnode is visible in the Camera view.

  • Invisible : The subnode is hidden in the Camera view.

  • Enabled : The subnode is active and will be visible in the Camera view if also set to visible.

  • Disabled : The subnode is inactive and will be hidden in the Camera view regardless if set to visible or hidden.

TIP To reset the subnode state back to default, click the subnode state icon while pressing Alt.
Search bar

Allows you to filter and search for subnodes. Typing anything in the field will make the subnode list display only the subnodes that contain the typed text string in their name, along with their parents.

NOTE If your search result is a child in the hierarchy, the parent element and resulting hierarchical chain will not be filtered out of the subnode list.
