You can display a port's name by clicking on it. You can also display the information on a connection by hovering the mouse cursor on one of the ports in the connection.

Click on the port to select it.
The port will display its name.

Move the mouse cursor over one of the ports that the connection is linking and wait one second.
A tooltip will appear displaying the type of port the mouse is over as well, its port number, the name of the node it is connected to and the port number to which it is connected.
