If you are running Harmony in a mixed environment where the server is on CentOS Linux and some of the clients are running Windows, you must start the Link Server.This server makes it possible for Windows machines to communicate with the database.
- Create the
Link_srv.conffile in the
/USA_DBdirectory using the following command:
$ vi /USA_DB/Link_srv.conf
- Type in the following:
- Change the permissions on the
$ hostname SERVER_NAME
$ port 5679
Replace SERVER_NAME with the hostname of the databaser server.
$ chmod 644 Link_srv.conf
- Enable and start the Link Server daemon.
$ chkconfig toonboom_link_srv on
$ service toonboom_link_srv start
- Verify the Link Server's log to ensure there are no error occurred while starting the daemon:
$ cat /tmp/Link_srv.log
