Sharing the Harmony Database Files Using Samba on GNU/Linux

In order to allow Windows clients to access the database's directories remotely, they must be shared by the server using the Samba protocol.

If the GNU/Linux firewall is enabled, you must add rules to allow remote connections to the Samba server so as to allow other machines to connect to the NFS shares. If SELinux is enabled, it must also be configured to allow remote access to the Samba shares.

NOTE: The following commands require elevated privileges. To executed them successfully, you must either be logged in as a user with root privileges, or precede each command with sudo.
