About Importing Rigs and Assets from Adobe Flash / Animate
It is possible to export character rigs, props and background from Flash / Animate and import them in Harmony. This is useful if you have started your production onFlash / Animate and are considering switching to Harmony.
Importing rigs and assets created in Adobe Flash / Animate is supported in all Harmony editions, on Windows and macOS. You can import rigs from the following versions of Adobe Flash / Animate:
- Adobe Flash Professional CS5
- Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5
- Adobe Flash Professional CS6
- Adobe Flash Professional CC
- Adobe Flash Professional CC 2014
- Adobe Flash Professional CC 2015
- Adobe Animate CC 2015.1
NOTEExports from earlier versions of Flash are not possible. Exports from later versions of Animate may result in unexpected behaviour and problems.
To import a rig from Flash / Animate into Harmony, you must:
- Make sure your rig conforms to the guidelines for exporting content from Flash / Animate—see Guidelines for Importing Rigs or Assets from Adobe Flash / Animate.
- Install an extension to export your rig into an intermediary format—see Installing the Export to Harmony Extension for Adobe Flash / Animate.
- Export your rig into an intermediary format—see Exporting Rigs and Assets from Adobe Flash / Animate.
- Import the exported files in Harmony—see Importing Rigs and Assets Exported from Adobe Flash / Animate.
