About Users in WebCC

In order to use WebCC, a project collaborator must log in to the WebCC interface with their username and password, which must be created by a server administrator beforehand.

WebCC users are regular Harmony Server users, except they have a WebCC password. While users can access a Harmony Server database from the server's local network using Harmony Server applications with their username only, they must absolutely have a password to their account to be able to access WebCC.

If you create a users in WebCC, you must create their password at the same time. If you want to give access to WebCC to a user account that was created in Control Center, which would hence not have a password, you can simply select the user from the list of users in WebCC and create a password to that account.

Because WebCC is meant to be used by clients from outside of the studio, every WebCC user is required to have a strong password, based on the following requirements:

  • The password must be at least eight (8) characters in length.
  • The password must contain at least one capital letter, other than the first character of the password.
  • The password must contain at least one digit or non-alphabetical character.
IMPORTANTBefore creating other users, it is strongly recommended to start by assigning a strong password for the user usabatch, as this user has administrative privileges and its default password is usabatch.
