Distributing to Layers
To help breaking down a character, you can instantly split drawing strokes in a single layer onto multiple layers. When you use the Distribute to Layers command, each stroke you select in the Camera view is automatically placed on a new layer of its own.
NOTES
- If a single part of your character is composed of several strokes, you must group them before distributing them onto new layers—see Grouping Drawing Strokes.
- You cannot distribute layers in the Drawing view. It must be done in the Camera view.
How to distribute to layers
- In the Tools toolbar, click the Select tool.
- In the Camera view, select the artwork that you want to distribute to different layers.
- Do one of the following:
- From the top menu, select Drawing > Distribute to Layers.
- In the Tool Properties view, click the Distribute to Layers button.
A drawing layer is created for each drawing stroke or group in the selection. Each one of the selected drawing strokes and groups are removed from their origin layer and placed into their own new layer.
