Follow these steps to create the script to call Maya and to set it up.
From the Terminal, you must create a file in which to save the script.
You may create this file in either
~/bin. If you save it in
usr/local/bin, then all users will be able to render on that machine. If you create the file in
~/bin, then only the current user will be able to render from that machine.
|1.||Switch to the directory in which you want to create the script file:|
|3.||Create the script file called
sudo vim maya
|4.||Type in your password to grant administrator access.|
|5.||From inside the text editor, select "
exec /Applications/Autodesk/maya2012/Maya.app/Contents/MacOS/Maya "$@"
|6.||Save and exit by typing:|
|7.||Edit the file to make sure all users can access it. Type the following:|
chmod ugo+x maya
