Chapter 11: Publish

Publish Button

Click on the Publish button to export your Flip Boom Cartoon project in one of the six options available.

Click on each button to learn more.

iPod, iPhone or iPad Movie

Publish to iPod and iPad Button

1. Click on the iPod button to publish your Flip Boom Cartoon project in .m4v format.

Once you click on the iPod button, a browser will open where you can name and save your iTunes file.

2. After you click Save, iTunes will automatically open. From the Library menu in iTunes, click on the Movie section to view your animation.

After you publish your Animation to iTunes, you need to use the features in iTunes to sync your animation with your iPod, iPhone or iPad.

In iTunes do the following:

1. Select the movie in your iTunes Library.
2. In the iTunes main menu bar select File > Create New Version > Create iPod or iPhone Version or File > Create New Version > Create iPad or Apple TV Version. The selected movie will be converted for use on your Apple device, this may take a few minutes.
3. Once your animation has been converted you can sync it with your device.

QuickTime Movie

Publish to QuickTime Button

Click on the QuickTime button to publish your Flip Boom Cartoon project in the .mov format.

Once you click on the QuickTime button, a browser will open where you can name and save your file.

Flash Movie

Publish to Flash Button

Click on the Flash button to publish your Flip Boom Cartoon project in .swf format.

Once you click on the Flash button, a browser will open where you can name and save your file.

YouTube Movie

Publish to YouTube Button

1. Click on the YouTube button to publish your Flip Boom Cartoon project in the .mov format.

A window will open where you can name your file and save it to your computer.

2. After you click Save, a second window will open to ask for your login information, as well as information about your animation. If you do not already have an account, cancel the process and create one before proceeding. The information that you enter will appear with your animation on YouTube.
3. After you click OK a progress bar will appear while your animation is uploaded to the YouTube server. A message box will appear to let you know when the process is complete.

Facebook Movie

Follow the steps below to save and upload your animation to Facebook:

1. Click on the Facebook button to publish your Flip Boom Cartoon project as a *.mov movie. A window will open where you can name your file and save it to your computer.
2. After you click Save, a second window will open to ask you for the title and information about your animation. Enter this information.
3. After you click OK, the Facebook wizard (Global progress bar) opens and launches a web browser to the Facebook login page. Login to Facebook or if you do not have an account, create one now.
4. Click the Next button in the Facebook wizard window.
5. Your web browser will navigate to a Facebook page that will ask you for your authorization to 'Allow Video Uploads from Toon Boom Animation'. When you grant this permission, your authorization will be saved and Facebook will not ask for it again.
6. Click the Next button in the Facebook wizard window.
7. Your web browser will navigate to a Facebook page that will ask you for your authorization to upload videos. When you grant this permission, Facebook will not ask for it again and your videos from then on will be uploaded automatically.
8. Click the Next button in the Facebook wizard window to start the upload process.
9. A message box will let you know that your video has been uploaded successfully. When you browse to either your profile, newsfeed or Your Videos, your animation video will be there.

Print

Print Button

Use the Print button to print the current page from your default printer.
