Here are the four tools available in Flip Boom.

If you do not see the Tool options, click on the Toggle Tools/Library button to make them appear.
Use the Brush tool to create strokes with. If you are using a graphic tablet, pressure sensitivity will be available. You can change the width and shape of the Brush tool in the Brush Options window.
Use the select tool to select strokes in your Drawing Space. Once a stroke is selected, its outline is highlighted in orange and a blue selection box becomes available. You can then change the size, rotation and colour of the selected strokes. You can also copy, cut, or delete the selected strokes. If you hold down the Alt key, the cursor will change from an arrow to a lasso and allow you to make free-form selections.
Use the Eraser tool to erase a stroke or part of a stroke in the Drawing Space. If you are using a graphic tablet, pressure sensitivity will be available. You can change the width and shape of the Eraser tool in the Brush Options window.
Use the Paint tool to fill your drawings with colour. The Paint tool only works inside a closed shape, if the shape you want to colour is not closed you will need to close any gaps before you can use this tool. You can also use the Paint tool to repaint strokes with a new colour.
